Our physician consultants may be contacted as often as needed to resolve a particular medical issue(s). However consultation times determine the cost of visits. We want to be fair and our costs are fair. To maintain an affordable service and make services accessible we do not control the physician’s time spent with a patient. But consider this that most issues may be resolved in a few minutes. However more complex medical issues will naturally require more time and the physician will address them during the tele-visit.

» Does KOOLMD.COM have minimum age requirements for opening an account?
Yes. Excluding dependants or secondary members, the Primary Member or Account holder must be 18 years of age or older. A legal guardian or parent should be present during a tele-consult with a person under the age of 18. If a person under the age of 18 is being evaluated he or she must be listed on the account.
» If I have a pre-existing medical condition, will a KOOLMD.COM physician still be able to evaluate me?
YES. Our physicians will accept you as a patient regardless of your pre-existing health condition. However if a certain subspecialty medication will be required KOOLMD.COM may request that you obtain a second opinion or additional consultation.
» How are prescriptions filled?
Each consulting physician or health care provider at his or her discretion may determine need for a over the counter or prescription grade medication. The physician may either FAX or call in your prescription to your local pharmacy of choice. This can be done 24/7/365 days a year. The medications may also be shipped to you directly via our mail-order arrangements with select pharmacies. We can provide next day, 2-Day, or 3-Day delivery via our mail-order program. When doing overnight shipments we suggest that the Teleconsult be done prior to 2 PM LOCAL TIME to avoid delays. There will be additional postage charges for these services. Once a medication has been shipped we can provide a tracking number.

Our members can consult with a physician at our deeply discounted rate. For new members they may be able to get an initial brief free consult (does not cover those requiring prescription medications).
» How do I reschedule a Tele-Consult by Appointment?

You can reschedule a Tele-Consult by Appointment anytime simply by calling our Customer service number at 1-888-9KOOLMD (1-888-956-6563). Any payments made will remain in our system as a credit to for a Tele-Consult by Appointment at a future date.

MEDICATIONS
» Can members and non-members both get prescriptions from a KOOLMD.COM physician?
Yes. Our Physicians are able to prescribe and call in a medication after having conducted a Tele-consult visit. We can call the Rx prescription in to a local pharmacy of your choice or have it submitted to our pharmacy mail-order partners who can deliver the medications to your doorstep. Prescription medications called in or FAXED are available for both members as well as non-members.
» Are there any limits on what the KOOLMD.COM consulting physician can prescribe?
Currently KOOLMD.COM physicians prescribe only non-controlled medications. For instance antibiotics, antihistamines, maintenance medications, or simple pain medications. For reasons of patient safety DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) controlled scheduled medications and substances are not prescribed as there is a greater risk of harm to a patient, with abuse potential. » What are KOOLMD.COM’s Doctors qualifications?

Our physicians are screened via different methods to verify their credentials and license status. We hold our providers to the highest standards by putting each prospective provider through a rigorous and comprehensive evaluation process. Our credentialing process includes research of any disciplinary actions through the Provider’s respective State Board of Medicine. Additionally we hire physicians whose background, training and abilities allow them to practice Telemedicine from their location with any patient type.

We use standards that meet national guidelines. Our recruitment and credentialing department credentials physicians and interviews each physician. Our strict protocols and guidelines assure that each physician is properly screened prior to their employment with KOOLMD.COM

Our medical director and compliance officer will review compliance with our protocols in managing our patients. When an irregularity or complaint is noted about a practitioner we have the option to terminate the employment of a physician. Our guidelines and company standards must be met by each physician as a requirement to continued employment.

REFUNDS AND CANCELLATION POLICY
» What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel at any time by calling our Member Support at 1-888-9KOOLMD or logging into your account online to process a cancellation for a Teleconsult. However once services have been rendered you will not be able to cancel the service or request a refund.
» What happens if I get my medications and want to return it?

It is the policy of most pharmacies (online, by mail or local pharmacies) that they will not take back any medications once they are purchased. For health reasons and security once a package HAS BEEN OPENED the MAIL-ORDER type pharmacy will not be able to accept the medications.

However when the package is completely unopened you may be able to return the unopened box to the return address on the box. Generally local pharmacies have similar protocols, but please check with them to get their current return policy before opting to pick up a called in Rx medication.
» May I be released from care or service?
Although KOOLMD.COM physicians make every effort to accommodate each and every patient’s medical needs, there are many occasions when our services may not suit a particular patient, or a patient is non-compliant with our recommendations. It is during these times that a KOOLMD.COM physician may opt to severe transfer a patient to another practitioner or break off its agreement to see a patient. KOOLMD.COM and its physicians, healthcare providers have the right to refuse treatment under certain circumstance. When this occurs, KOOLMD.COM will attempt to make alternate arrangements with another KOOLMD.COM staff physician for a Tele-Consult or offer a full refund if one of our physicians is unable to provide you a Tele-consult.

COST & FORMS OF PAYMENT
» What does it cost to get a Teleconsult with a Physician?
The cost of a single Teleconsult depends on the length of the Teleconsult time required, and if you are a member or not. Members will get a discounted rate of 30% currently.
» How can I pay for the Tele-consult services?
Currently we accept only the following forms of PAYMENT:
All major credit cards inclusive of AMERICAN EXPRESS CREDIT CARD (AMEX), MASTERCARD, VISA, DISCOVER and PAYPAL payments. After payment is made you will be able to send a Secure Email or be able to schedule and appointment with a physician.
» Does KOOLMD.COM accept insurance?
Our company currently is not contracted with insurance providers. Upon completion of your Teleconsult you will be provided a receipt which may be used for submission to your health plan for consideration for reimbursement.
» Are Employers, Healthcare groups, Government agencies or healthcare organizations able to utilize our membership plans available via KOOLMD.COM?
Yes. Employers, healthcare organizations, government agencies and other groups may join us to get membership services and discounted rates for their employees. We can also offer Occupational Medicine services for employers who would require this type of a program. Wellness programs may also be available. Human resource managers, safety supervisors and health managers are encouraged to contact us to discuss a membership program. Our services may be offered as part of a comprehensive employee benefits program.
